In April 1922 Clare Harner, age 12, appeared in her grade-school musical, an "operetta" for children titled The Quest of the Pink Parasol. As shown in this announcement from the local newspaper, Clare was cast in the Chorus of Poppies, later fairies. Directed by Neneta Mills, Supervisor of Music, with student accompanist Ruth Leckliter.
